Dare to Compare | Julep Eloise vs Color Club Baldwin Blues vs ncLA Malibu Beach Babe

Happy Friday! It’s time for another round of Dare to Compare where I test out similar nail polishes to see if they are duplicates of one another. I am still working through all the blue polishes in my collection, and I can’t believe I own three indigo blues. While it’s evident just by looking at the polishes they are not going to be exact dupes, I still wanted to test these out together. Let’s take a look at these indigo blues both individually and side-by-side!

Julep – Eloise Julep – Eloise First up is Eloise, what Julep calls a smoky indigo creme. Eloise has a good formula that is opaque in two coats. It can be a bit on the streaky side, but it evens out nicely when it dries. I really like how richly pigmented Eloise is. It’s such a fall staple!

Color Club – Baldwin Blues Color Club – Baldwin BluesNext up is Baldwin Blues from the brand Color Club. I received this mini bottle in a Birchbox a few years back, and really love the deep indigo shade. The formula on this polish is excellent! It can be worn in one coat, but I did apply two in the photos above to really achieve a glossy finish. I absolutely love Baldwin Blues!

ncLA – Malibu Beach Babe ncLA – Malibu Beach BabeLast but not least is ncLA Malibu Beach Babe. This polish is more of a teal than an indigo, and is thus lighter in pigmentation. Malibu Beach Babe has an okay formula. I find that it is quite messy during application due to its watery formula. It’s definitely my least favorite of the bunch, and the most expensive.

Julep Eloise vs Color Club Baldwin Blues vs ncLA Malibu Beach Babe IMG_4056Here are the polishes side-by-side. From left to right are: Julep Eloise, Color Club Baldwin Blues, and ncLA Malibu Beach Babe. These polishes are all very similar, but none of them are dupes. My favorite of the bunch is definitely Baldwin Blues. It has the best formula of the three, and is also my favorite shade. Julep Eloise is also a good choice, but I don’t recommend Malibu Beach Babe. I will be destashing both of those to keep Baldwin Blues!

All in all, I was surprised to find three indigo polishes in my collection that are so similar! I wear this shade primarily in the fall months, so I’m glad I found the one perfect for me. You can purchase Baldwin Blues on Amazon HERE for a discounted price. As I’m writing this post it’s only $5.50! Definitely let me know in the comments if you have a favorite indigo shade. I would love your recommendation!

Manicure March | JulieG in Sugar Plum Fairy

Happy Wednesday! Today for Manicure March I’m reviewing another textured polish from the brand JulieG. For some reason I never swatched all of the JulieG polishes that I purchased, so I’m finally getting around to that now. As I’ve mentioned throughout Manicure March, I still really like textured nail polishes, but I want to make sure I’m only keeping the ones I love and will wear. Let’s see what Sugar Plum Fairy is like, and whether or not it will remain in my collection!

JulieG in Sugar Plum Fairy JulieG in Sugar Plum FairySugar Plum Fairy is an indigo textured polish with silver shimmer. The formula is excellent! It applies very smoothly and is opaque in two coats. Sugar Plum Fairy dries rather quickly and is quite stunning on the nails. I know I won’t wear such a bold polish very often, but I need to keep this amazing polish in my collection. It is discontinued, so I wouldn’t be able to purchase it again. Plus, it looks really good with my skin tone. I just love it!

All in all, I’m so glad I am finally putting my JulieG polishes to the test. I’m very impressed with the formula, and the shades available are gorgeous, too. I definitely need to try out more polishes from the JulieG line, as it is fabulous and affordable in price. Please let me know in the comments what polishes from JulieG you’ve tried and recommend. I’ll be perusing the line at my local Rite Aid next time I’m there!

Zoya Entice Collection for Fall 2014

Happy Tuesday! I am super excited to share the first of the Zoya Nail Polish Fall collections with you today! I absolutely love creme nail polishes, and the Entice Collection contains six beautiful fall shades. Whether you prefer neutrals or darks, the Entice Collection has a shade that is perfect for you. Let me show you these stunning polishes!

Zoya – Nyssa Zoya – NyssaFirst up is Nyssa, a brown polish that reminds me of a cappuccino! Nyssa has a great formula that is opaque in two coats. In fact, I’m super impressed with all of the formulas in this collection! Nyssa in particular is perfect for a fall day, and can work great in nail art as well. If you’re not comfortable wearing brown alone, try it in an ombré with purple or red!

Zoya – Claire Zoya – ClaireNext up is Claire, a deep burgundy polish that has brown undertones in it. Claire is quite vampy, but applies easily with it’s awesome formula. It reminds me of the oxblood shade that is always popular in the fall, but even darker. For some reason Claire screams “high fashion” to me!

Zoya – Veronica Zoya – VeronicaVeronica is a lighter burgundy shade that Zoya describes as “red wine.” Veronica’s formula is spot on and opaque in two coats as well. I can definitely see this is an every day shade, and is appropriate for the office. Veronica is great for those of us who don’t rock deep and dark polishes, but still want a burgundy!

Zoya – Margo Zoya – MargoIf you love purple, check out Margo! This is a beautiful plum shade with a wonderful formula. Margo is unlike any other purple polish in my collection. I love the rich pigmentation, and I think it works well for any skin tone!

Zoya – Ryan Zoya – RyanNext up is Ryan, a stunning indigo polish and my favorite in the collection! I reached for Ryan as soon as I opened my box from Zoya. The formula is a dream, and I’m truly obsessed with any deep blue shades. I know Ryan will be on my fingers a lot this season!

Zoya – Genevieve Zoya – GenevieveLast but not least is Genevieve, a titanium grey polish. Genevieve looks like I dipped my nails in liquid metal! There is just the slightest shimmer in this polish that makes the finished look multidimensional. Genevieve is my second favorite in this line, and I put it right back on as soon as I was finished swatching! In fact, I’m wearing it as I type up this blog post!

All in all, I am loving everything about the Zoya Entice Collection! This is definitely one of my favorite nail polish collections of all time! I can see myself wearing each and every shade, and the creme formulas are just perfection. I highly recommend each and every polish! You can purchase the Entice Collection directly from the Zoya website HERE for $9 each. It’s worth the price tag 100%! Let me know in the comments which of the Entice Collection is your personal favorite!
