ATORS Strippable Nail Polish in Shiny Blue from Born Pretty Store

Happy Monday! Today I am excited to bring you a review of a unique polish I received from Born Pretty Store. This polish is from the brand ATORS and is a holographic duochrome polish in the shade Shiny Blue. What really makes this nail polish cool is that it is water based and is designed to strip off the nails without a need for nail polish remover. I put it to the test and am excited to share my thoughts on this product with you!

ATORS Holographic Polish in Shiny Blue The ATORS Shiny Blue polish is a blue and purple duochrome with hints of green and a holographic shimmer. The formula is good, but finicky. I recommend applying three very thin coats. I had an issue with thicker coats, where the polish would bunch. The thin coats worked really well for me, though! I also recommend not using a base coat. This is one of the few times I will say that! Because this is a strippable nail polish, it won’t apply properly with a base (believe me – I tried and it was all bumpy!). And yes, it does strip off easily and cleanly! I was really impressed with how the polish stayed on until I started peeling it. My nails weren’t damaged at all.

Simple Saturday | Starry Stamping with Born Pretty Store Plates

Happy Saturday! It’s been a while since I posted under the Simple Saturday category! Today I have a quick manicure using a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store. As I mentioned in THIS blog post, I am still experimenting with stamping. I decided to practice using THIS stamping plate. It includes some gorgeous stars, so I went with a nighttime themed look.

I began with a navy creme base of LVX Azzurrum (full review HERE) and let that dry completely. Then I grabbed a gold metallic polish for the stars because I’ve heard metallic formulas are good for stamping. I used NYC New York Color in Crown Gold (full review HERE), but any gold will do. The stars did get a bit smudged in the stamping process, but I’m definitely getting the hang of it. I like how it turned out!

Holiday Manicure with Born Pretty Store Stamping Plates

Happy Wednesday! Despite being in the nail polish community for nearly three years now, I never tried out nail stamping. I think I shied away from it because I knew I would be bad at it, but when Born Pretty Store gave me the opportunity to test out some of their new stamping plates I decided to go for it. If you’ve never tried stamping before I will let you know that there definitely is a learning curve. I’ve been practicing for over a week now, and I am still struggling to get the designs on my nails perfectly. Nonetheless, I thought I would share my first attempts at stamping with you because I’m not a professional nail artist – I’m just a girl with a blog! Let me share my holiday manicure using some Born Pretty Store stamping plates.

First and foremost, be sure to pick up a nail stamper and scraper. This is a reusable set that retails for just $2.99 HERE.

These are the two stamping plates I used for this manicure. I’m using stock photos from Born Pretty Store’s website because in real life the plates are mirrored and it was impossible for me to get a clear picture of them for you. The top plate is $2.24 HERE and I am using the design on the bottom because it reminds me of a Christmas Tree. Similarly, the bottom plate is $2.99 HERE and I am using the floral design on the bottom because it reminds me of poinsettias!

I began with a white base of SinfulColors Snow Me White and let that dry completely. You can then follow THIS YouTube tutorial if you’d like some basics of nail stamping. I used Julep Payton for the green on my accent nail and Milani Modern Rouge for the red. As you can see, I did mess up the red stamp quite a bit, and the green color was not very vibrant. Nonetheless, I’m happy with this result as a nail stamp beginner!

All in all, I’m having a great time testing out these nail plate and stamping tools from Born Pretty Store! Abstract Floral Nails with Born Pretty Store Water Decals

Happy Tuesday! Today I have a review of some floral water decals from Born Pretty Store. Water decals are such a fun and easy way to create a nail art look, and I’ve always enjoyed testing them out in the past. You can see the other manicures I’ve created with water decals HERE, but let’s jump right into today’s look!

This set of water decals contains a beautiful floral pattern with red flowers. There are two rows of five blocks that can be cut into any shape you desire. I love that these decals are quite customizable. You can shape them to fit your entire nail, or cut them into funky shapes. The sheet itself retails for just $1.99 and can be purchased HERE.

I decided to go with an abstract look, and began with a base of Jordana Merry Mint (full review HERE). Once my green base was completely dry, I began adding on random pieces of the decals. I finished with a glossy top coat, and I’m loving the result! It reminds me of vintage wallpaper, and looks like a collage project. I know it won’t be everyone’s style, but the colors and pattern are really cool to me.

Foil Nail Stickers from Born Pretty Store

Happy Saturday! Today I have a quick review of some nail wraps from Born Pretty Store. I’ve really loved the nail stickers I’ve tried in the past, so when I saw that Born Pretty Store offered a foil set that looked like mirrored nails, I just had to try them! I’ve wanted to achieve mirrored nails for a long time, but oftentimes the polish reviews I read show quite a streaky result. Thus, I thought nail wraps would be the perfect way to get mirrored nails. Let me show you the result!

Here is what the set of nail wraps looks like in the packaging. They are designed to wear for 11 days and have a great shine. The set retails for just $4.55 on Born Pretty Store’s website HERE.

I applied the foil wraps just as I normally would, by peeling off the sticky backing, smoothing out the wrap on my nail, and filing off the excess. Unfortunately, the result wasn’t what I was hoping to see. My first issue was with the size of the wraps. The smallest size was way too big for my pinky finger! This made the edges look awkward, and it was clear that I had stickers on my nails. I also experienced some issues getting the wraps to lie flat, and some of the edges got crinkly. I almost feel like I’m wearing tin foil on my fingers!

Unfortunately, these foil wraps are a miss for me, but I still love the other nail wraps that I’ve tried from Born Pretty Store. See reviews of those HERE and HERE.

All in all, I didn’t get the mirrored manicure that I was hoping for, but I’m still glad I was able to test out the foil wraps and report back to you on my experience! I still hope to try out other nail wraps from Born Pretty Store in the future, since I’ve had good luck on the others I’ve tried. Simple Fall Manicure featuring Born Pretty Store Studs!

Happy Monday! Today I have a simple nail art look to share with all of you! I recently got some new products from Born Pretty Store to review, one of which was a wheel containing both square and rounded studs in a variety of colors. I wanted to test them out right away, so I layered them over my manicure. Let me show you the result!

Here is the complete set of studs. I’m using a stock photo courtesy of Born Pretty Store in this post, because my wheel arrived all out of sorts due to the mail. I wanted you to be able to see the different colors and shapes easily! This wheel retails for just $5.15, which is an awesome bargain considering the number of times you can use the studs! Here is my complete manicure! I was already wearing Zoya Ryan (see full review HERE) and didn’t want to change polish colors, so I simply added a fresh coat and dunked my rink finger into the rounded studs for a caviar look. I love that the studs have a flat bottom so they stick onto the nail easily! Then, I placed a square stud at the base of each nail. I decided to go for all green, as it looks great with the dark blue polish. I finished up with a top coat and I was good to go!

All in all, this nail art look is so simple to create, yet looks fun! I think the colors are perfect for fall as well. Feather Water Decals from Born Pretty Store | 2 Different Looks

Happy Wednesday! Today I have a review of some feather water decals from Born Pretty Store. I’ve seen people create feather manicures with actual craft feathers before, but I’m just not a fan of putting something furry like that onto my nails. When I saw these fun and colorful feathers on the Born Pretty Store website, I was excited to see how they would look! Let me show you the manicures I created with these decals.

First up, here is the sheet of water decals. As you can see, the feathers come in some really fun colors, and have some glitter running through them as well! This sheet is also $0.99 on the Born Pretty Store website HERE! There are eight different feather designs, so you can pick the one for you.

I first used the decals over Wet ‘n Wild Megalast in On a Trip. After my base color dried, a carefully cut out each feather that I wanted to use, removed the protective film, and placed the decal under water for about 15-20 seconds. Then, I carefully placed the decal on my nail. I really love how the feathers look over this purple color! The colors in the feather are still visible, but because they are faint I think they look like real feathers. Of course, I added top coat to get a really shiny finish.

I also wanted to show these decals over a white polish so that you can see how bright the colors are. I messed up my pointer finger a bit (user error here, there’s nothing wrong with the product!), but I’m still loving how vivid the feathers look. The base color of your manicure really changes the look of these decals, which I think is really cool!

All in all, I’m so glad I tried out these feather water decals! They are easy to use, and look great with almost any base color. Jet Away June | Yi Kou Nail Wraps from Born Pretty Store

Happy Friday! Back in April, I tried Yi Kou Nail Wraps from Born Pretty Store for the first time (see that post HERE). I loved them so much that when I got the opportunity to review another pack, I jumped at the opportunity! I’m including this review during Jet Away June because nail wraps are the perfect choice for nail polish when you’re traveling. I’m always nervous to bring nail polish with me anywhere! I don’t want the glass bottle to break, nor do I want the polish to leak. If you’re going on a trip, nail wraps are the way to go!

I decided to pick a black and white design from Yi Kou this time around because this color combination has been on trend throughout the spring, and now into the summer! Plus, neutral shades are perfect for traveling because they go with many different outfits. This one set of wraps can be used all at once for a complete manicure, or you can use just one, such as the heart strip, as an accent nail.

Application is very simple – peel the strip from the protective backing, smooth it out on your nail, and use a nail file in a downward motion to trim off the excess. I always finish with a top coat to make sure the edges lay flat. It also helps to make the manicure last longer (which is always helpful when you’re away from home!). I’m really liking this black and white design! The heart is definitely my favorite, but the different patterns look fun together! All in all, nail wraps are the perfect way to keep your nails looking fabulous as you jet away this summer! You can easily pack nail wraps, and they will last you at least a full week. Mosaic Nail Art with Diamond Glitter from Born Pretty Store

Happy Saturday! Today I have a fun nail art post featuring diamond glitters from Born Pretty Store! I’ve experimented with loose glitter before, but never with diamonds. Let me show you the glitter and how I used it!

This glitter pot is filed with mylar glitters in the shape of a diamond. The colors include, gold, silver, blue, pink, and green. I really like that this pot has a screw-on top so the glitters don’t go everywhere when I open it. The pot is also very easy to store, as I don’t have to worry about it popping open either. I decided to place the glitters individually on an accent nail for my manicure. I used a pair of tweezers to help me out, and it made the job very easy. First, I began with a white base because I wanted the colors to really stand out. Then, while the polish was still tacky, I carefully applied the glitters. I sealed my manicure with a top coat, and was ready to go! I love how my nail art turned out!

All in all, I’m really liking these diamond nail glitters from Born Pretty Store! They are easy to use, and even the packaging is great. Born Pretty Store Brush Set Review & Nail Art FAIL!

Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is a review of a brush set from Born Pretty Store that led to a nail art fail! I was so excited to receive this set, as I am not a nail art expert and I thought this set would help me create beautiful designs. Well, the set is great, but let’s be real – special brushes aren’t going to magically improve my art skills! I wasn’t going to include my manicure fail, but I wanted to show it so you can see that not all nail polish bloggers are professionals, and because it took me a lot of time and effort to even create this look. Let me just jump right in and share the brush kit and manicure with you!

This brush kit comes with six nail art brushes and a dotting tool. The brushes come in all different sizes, and the set even includes a fan brush. The dotting tool is quite small, but definitely a great tool to have in your collection. This set retails for a very affordable $5.46, and can be purchased HERE. The brushes all seem to be very nice quality, though because this is my first nail art brush kit I can’t compare the set to others.

I experimented with a lot of the brushes in this set, but unfortunately couldn’t get any great results yet. I think this is definitely a practice makes perfect type of thing! For the manicure you see below, I used this angled brush. I attempted to do a striped design.

Well, here’s my manicure fail! I began with Zoya Rooney as a base color, and Rocha for the stripes. I waited until Rooney was dry before painting on my stripes. The brush itself was fine, but my hands were so shaky that I just couldn’t get a straight line. These are my art skills at their finest!

All in all, I’m still glad I got the chance to try out this brush kit from Born Pretty Store. I’m sure with practice my nail art will improve, but I hope you don’t mind that I shared my fail manicure with you today. Believe it or not I worked hard on it! If you have a difficult time making your nail art look good, you are not alone!
